Are You Ready To Commit To Yourself With Compassion And Care?

Do you appear as though you’re Wonder Woman, Super Woman or Super Mom, but feel increasingly cut off from your own heart, needs and true strength?

While outwardly self-sufficient and highly competent, do you find yourself in tears at the end of the day, highly stressed, exhausted and approaching burnout?

Perhaps you’re in the midst of a crisis, transition or ending a relationship and you want to get to the underbelly of why and avoid repeating ineffective patterns.

Maybe you feel lost and disconnected from what is innately important to you and for you. It might be that you don’t feel worthy or deserving of getting your needs met and/or don’t know what it is that you truly need or want. Are you struggling to feel valued, seen or heard? Do you want to break through barriers, commit to yourself and feel expressed, loved and appreciated?

You Are Not Alone

As women, we are both biologically and culturally wired to take care of others, and we often derive our self-worth through external sources.

With the mixed messages, cultural ideas and polarizing ideals of who women are supposed to be today—assertive yet sensitive; not vain, but look great all the time; powerful yet gentle; independent yet interconnected—it’s no wonder that so many women are increasingly stressed out. And, with so much attention focused on what’s around us rather than within us—kids, career, partner, friends, family, finances, etc.—it’s not uncommon to lose connection with our own hearts and genuine self that desperately wants and needs to be expressed.

With so much expected of women today, it can be difficult to find the time for the self-care and healing that is vital to our wellbeing. Almost everyone is dealing with some level of trauma, which when left unresolved can create depression, anxiety, body image issues, interpersonal relationship problems, addictions, low-self worth and more. From family of origin issues to sexism, racism, homophobia, etc., trauma is everywhere and none of us are left unaffected. However, so few of us actually allow ourselves the time and resources to heal. So focused on the external, we lose touch with what we innately need to feel whole.

The good news is that we each have an innate capacity to heal and reconnect with our values, needs, goals and, most importantly, hearts. As a highly experienced and compassionate therapist, I can help you figure out what within you needs to be expressed, break through barriers and connect with the inherent wholeness that is you.

Counseling For Women Can Help You Tap Into Your Divine Feminine Power And Connect With Your Heart

Counseling for women sessions offer you a space to take a break from the demands of daily life and be with what comes up in the moment. Sessions are a time for you to focus on yourself and be open and vulnerable as you explore who you are and what you want.

You can express feelings that may not feel acceptable anywhere else, such as sadness, anger and even rage, challenge your inner critic and begin to cultivate increased self-compassion.

In the moment and drawing from mindfulness therapy and somatic therapy, we’ll work together to identify thoughts and feelings as they arise and explore where they are held in the body. We spend so much time in our heads, yet when we open up to what our bodies are trying to tell us, we’re able to soothe our overworked nervous systems and create the sustainable and effective change in our lives that can increase awareness, acceptance and vibrancy.

This in-the-moment awareness often also brings old patterns and self-talk stories to the surface. Once we know what goes on beyond the mind—patterns, which may have served you once, but no longer do—unravel. With this awareness, it becomes possible to more fully open your senses, develop new, empowering patterns and integrate this new knowledge into a new you. This process also gives you a novel way to explore what you want and what you don’t. You can get curious about what your purpose and passions were, are and/or what you desire them to be. And, through this process of self-discovery, you can broaden your perspective, let go of what no longer serves you and make room for what you truly want to cultivate in your life.

Wherever you are on your life path, it is possible to get back in touch with your essential wholeness, connect with divine energy, embrace your internal goddess and tap into your heart. I’ll offer you compassionate support and practical guidance as you explore the innate healing capacity that resides within you and learn how to handle yourself gently and with care. You can release stuck trauma, let go of old stories and commit to living as your most beautiful and authentic self.

You might still wonder if women’s counseling is right for you…

I worry that if I open up and am truly real, raw and vulnerable that I’ll be overwhelmed with pain.

It can feel scary to be vulnerable, but so much healing can come from being in an open, supportive and trusting relationship with another. It also takes a lot of energy to hold down all that pain, which often results in parts of you becoming blocked and can fuel depression, anxiety and isolation. However, when we do allow feelings to arise—and the intensity usually doesn’t last too long—wisdom arises and healing ensues. I’ll be there with you along the way, serving as your guide and moving at a pace that is tolerable for you. Together, we’ll travel through the realness and rawness in a safe and sacred way that allows your feelings to be gradually understood and integrated, which can lead to profound discoveries, healing and growth.

With so many people counting on me and countless daily demands, it feels selfish to take this kind of time for myself.

It can be a challenge for women today to take time for themselves and prioritize self-care. We strive to be the ideal parent, partner, professional, friend, etc., but it’s difficult to be fully engaged when we feel depleted, drained and empty. You truly do need to take time for yourself, to focus on yourself—even if it’s just for an hour a week—to provide for and support everyone else. And, you deserve the time to be with your heart and get your personal needs met, too.

I should be able to figure this all out and make changes on my own.

So many women get into a self-sufficient pattern, which I can fully understand. However, while you are no doubt a highly functioning and competent woman, so much value can come with being vulnerable with another. With a trusted guide, it becomes easier to go into the dark, scary places that we often avoid, where so much wisdom can be found. Together, we can delve into these dark spaces and unpack what is truly there. I’ll be with you as you allow feelings to arise, make profound personal discoveries, heal from past wounds, and connect with your most beautiful, open and authentic self.
